In the era of enjoying multistarrer, high-octane action entertainers, Bollywood is set to witness another union of big heads of the industry. The makers of the 2016 action entertainer Dishoom (2016) are all set to bring back the buddy cop action featuring John Abraham and Varun Dhawan but this time with the versatile Akshay Kumar joining them.

As per a recent report, even though the Dishoom sequel has been overdue for several years now, the makers finally plan to recreate the cop action world, but this time in a bigger and bolder way. With Akshay agreeing to team up with the duo, the makers are now gearing up to materialise the plan.

However, there is no official confirmation on this information, and fans have to wait a little longer to get more details about the trio’s collaboration. Since Akshay Kumar has already made a cameo appearance in the original film, the upcoming sequel is expected to offer a wider plot following the previous one.

The 2016 cop action comedy film was directed by Varun Dhawan’s brother Rohit Dhawan. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film witnessed a union of a stellar cast, including  John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Akshaye Khanna and Saqib Saleem.

Dishoom also offered some interesting cameo appearances by stars like Parineeti Chopra, Akshay Kumar and Nargis Fakhri.

The cop action film that was produced with a budget of Rs 55 crore emerged to be a blockbuster as it opened with positive reviews. The film became successful by earning around Rs 119 crore in its theatrical release.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in the upcoming comedy sequel, Housefull 5, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The upcoming comedy entertainer will also star Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Chunky Pandey, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangda Singh, and more.
