An X user shared this heartfelt reaction, echoing the sentiments of many who are appreciating the film’s effort to revive devotion-driven storytelling on the big screen. He wrote: “First of all, thank you to Vishnu Manchu and AVA Entertainment for bringing back the lost glory of mythological and historical-based true stories to the screen—something that had faded in the Gen-Z era. Kudos to your attempt and hard work. After Kanappa, maybe filmmakers should consider making more of these mythological and historical films. Manchu Vishnu as Kanappa and Tinnadu has done a wonderful job, and his acting in the climax was truly remarkable, delivering what could be called his career-best performance. The cameo of Prabhas as Rudhra is a major asset to the film. Akshay Kumar as Shiva, Mohanlal as Kirata, Kajal Aggarwal as Parvathy Devi, and Mohan Babu as Mahadeva Shastri all brought powerful screen presence. The background score elevates the second half of the film to an entirely new level.”

Another moviegoer who watched Kanappa shared a balanced opinion on the film’s structure and overall impact. According to the viewer, the first half of the film felt average, with a slower pace and modest emotional engagement. However, they noted that the second half transforms into a blockbuster, delivering high-impact drama and emotional depth.

A film enthusiast wrote: “Overall, Kanappa is a good film. The slow pace and modest production values are its weak points, but the last 40 minutes featuring Vishnu Manchu’s memorable performance, along with Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, and Prabhas as Rudra, make it worth watching.”
