‘Badhte Chalo’ Is A Patriotic Saga: Vicky Kaushal’s First Song From ‘Sam Bahadur’ Out

The Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur released its first video song on Monday – a complete patriotic saga. The song from the much-awaited movie is a Diwali gift to Vicky Kaushal’s fans and is truly a dedication to all those army personnel across India, irrespective of cast, colour, culture, and religion. Music for the goosebump guarantor was done by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and lyrics were written by Gulzar.

The movie, a biopic, into the remarkable life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw, is directed by Megna Gulzar. The movie illustrates the four decade long military career of Mr Manekshaw and the song now released is an auspicious representation deep into his army life.

The “Bharat Mata consciousness” which once helped the fighters of the country to dare even their life for the nation is also well articulated in the song. The chorus deserves a special appreciation – which includes Rakesh Dhan Singh, Ravee Mishrra, Anubhav Tiwari, Arsh Mohammed, Sayantan Bhattacharya & Latesh Puujari – as they form the soul of the strain.

The Indian landscape which is very familiar through the numerous “army films” released so far is used and captured in a fresh and interesting manner – the true merit of cinematographer Jay I Patel. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, in which the Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw led the Indian Army from the front, ending in the creation of Bangladesh.

Sam Bahadur, a Hindi-language biographical war drama movie, is co-written by Meghna Gulzar along with Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Srivastava and is produced by Ronnie Screwvala, under the banner of RSVP Movies. Along with Vicky Kaushal, the movie presents an interesting cast catalogue including Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, and Zeeshan Ayyub.

Expectations are high as Vicky Kaushal is seen outstanding in his brand-new experimental appearance and mannerisms. “Ruknaa Nahin. Chuknaa Nahin. #BadhteChalo! Song out now, listen in!”, he wrote on Instagram sharing the song. The movie will hit the theatre screens on December 1, 2023.
