Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, fondly known as the “He-Man” of Indian cinema, is currently in a critical state and under close medical supervision at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. The 89-year-old star, who turns 90 on December 8 this year, was admitted after reportedly experiencing breathlessness over the weekend.

According to hospital sources and statements from his family, Dharmendra has been placed on ventilator support and remains under observation. His wife, actor and BJP MP Hema Malini, shared a heartfelt update with fans, urging them to pray for his recovery.

“Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don’t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health,” said a statement from Team Sunny Deol.

Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”

Taking to X on Monday evening, Hema wrote, “I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery.”

The actress was earlier seen arriving at the hospital to check on her husband’s condition. Shortly after her visit, his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, were also spotted outside the facility, looking visibly concerned.

A representative of Dharmendra later issued an official statement on behalf of the family, saying, “Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”

Adding to the scene of solidarity outside Breach Candy, several top names from the Hindi film industry were seen paying visits to the veteran actor. Superstar Salman Khan was photographed entering the hospital premises on Monday night, while Shah Rukh Khan was spotted leaving later in the evening after visiting Dharmendra. Both actors reportedly spent time with the Deol family and enquired about his condition.
