Dulquer Salmaan has always been a doting son of Malayalam Superstar Mammootty. As Mr. Mammootty”s film Kannur Squad hit the theatres todays, “DQ” could not be more proud.

Taking to social media, the King of Kotha star wrote down his excitement. He wrote, “I loved Kannur Squad. And from everything I am hearing and reading, sounds like you all do too!! Take a bow team”.

“DQ” is the biggest fan of his father. On the “megastar”s” birthday, the son penned down a heartfelt note. In his note, Mr. Salmaan wrote,

“When I was a boy, you were the man I wanted to become. When I first stood in front of the camera you were the actor I wanted to become. When I became a father you were everything I wanted to be. I hope one day I become even half of who you are Pa! Wishing you the happiest birthday. May you always continue to awe, entertain and inspire the world in ways only you can”. He also shared a lovely picture of the father son-duo.

Malayalam film industry”s “Big B” plays the role of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, George Martin. The movie is a police procedural which consist of a squad of four police men. The name Kannur Squad is inspired from real life police unit organised by former police SP S Sreejith. The movie narrates the story of cases that the squad takes down. Kannur Squad has Mammootty, Shabareesh Varma, Rony David and Azees Nedumangad in the front row. It also stars Vijayaraghavan and Sunny Wayne.

The movie is a directorial debut of Roby Varghese Raj, who is a cinematographer. The screenplay and dialogues of the movie are done by Rony David Raj and Muhammed Shafi while the story is written by Muhammed Shafi. Sushin Shyam is the musical composer. Mr. Salman”s production house Wayfarer films is also the distribution partner of the movie. As Kannur Squad hit the theatre today, the movie has received positive review from fans and critics alike. “DQ” last appeared in King of Kotha, which could not impress audience the way it expected to be.
