Farhan Akthar Sparks Nostalgia Among Fans By Sharing Picture Of Dil Chahta Hai Location

Actor and director Farhan Akthar recalls the shooting of Dil Chahta Hai 23 years ago at the Chapora Fort of Goa. The movie is Farhan Akthar’s directorial debut, a coming-of-age drama that portrayed realistic Indian youth. Taking to Instagram, the filmmaker shared picture from the “magical” place where Akash, Sid and Sameer of Dil Chahta Hai used to hang out and have their musings on life. The post also had film maker Shujaat Saudagar.

He wrote, “First time back at Chapora Fort since we filmed Akash, Sid and Sameer talking about life. That was 23 years ago. A lot has changed but the warm, sea salt infused Goan air remains the same. Some places are just magical”.

Dil Chahta Hai was released on 2001 and features Amir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna. It is the story of friendship, love and equations of relationship. The movie was lauded for its storyline and won National Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. The Farhan Akthar directorial was a breath of fresh air for Bollywood marking the industry’s readiness to deal with more challenging and realistic plotlines.
