While Dabba Cartel has gained attention for its women’s squad and narrative, it’s also the soundtrack, including “Kali Mari,” that sets the tone for the show’s drama.
Nomadic Voice, with his authentic sound, brings a fresh wave to Malayalam music. For those who have caught the show on Netflix, the song is unmistakable, a fusion of slang language and contemporary elements layered with heartfelt beats that makes it impossible not to groove.
The song itself holds special significance in Nomadic’s journey. As the track was written during a period of reflection in 2020, it’s a product of both his artistic evolution and his personal life.
Nomadic left Kerala for Ireland in 2017, where he settled with his eight-year-old daughter, Sharon. She became both his greatest supporter and his first critic, giving him valuable feedback on his music. She was also the first to excitedly tell her friends about her dad’s song being featured on Netflix – a proud moment for both father and daughter.
His collaboration with producer Thudwiser on “Kali Mari” helped shape the track, and the vocal recording by Shortcut gave it that polished, sharp edge.

The music video, directed by Albin Jacob of Wicked Visuals, visually captures the song’s energy and complements the narrative of the show. Alja Digital also helped bring the song to a wider audience with its aerial footage.
Beyond “Kali Mari,” Nomadic Voice has a lot in the works. His music lilted another track on the album Howl, produced by Noid Sensei, which will be released soon. He also has other exciting projects lined up with various artists, expanding his reach and continuing to push the boundaries of his sound.
Nomadic’s heart is still rooted in Kerala, and he hopes to return soon to pursue music full-time. “Kali Mari” might have been released in 2020, but its inclusion in Dabba Cartel has now brought it a whole new life.
