Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz will hit theatre today. The fantasy fiesta is all set to take you for a fun ride with a spectacular visual experiences in 3D. Barroz: Guardian of Treasure is based on the novel by Jijo Punnoose.
The star will also appear in key role as the ghost, who guards a treasure for centuries. The film promises an intriguing ride to a mysterious world. Trailer of the film showed a snippet of one man’s unforgettable story of one man’s wait and fantastic turn of events.
Speaking to Galatta Plus, the Malayalam superstar said Barroz will be his first and last directorial venture. The original plan was to direct a 3D film that required no 3D glasses to watch. However, the idea was dropped as it was costly. Saying that he loves the idea of doing impossible things, the star decided to direct the 3D film ‘Barroz’ and for the legendary actor ‘Everything fell in the right place for the movie’.
Earlier, the star wrote a letter to Hans Zimmer, Hollywood music composer, asking if he could help compose music for his directorial debut. Due to tight schedule, the Interstellar music composer could not make it. However, his team has contributed to the film, along with other legendary musicians.
Barroz was earlier dated to release in October this year. Initially, the movie’s shooting began in 2021 but faced delays due to Covid-19 restrictions. Filming took place in Goa, Kochi, and Bangkok. The film features an ensemble cast including Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Tuhin Menon, and Guru Somasundaram.`
