Prithviraj Sukumaran's Aadujeevitham To Stream On Netflix On This Date

The real-life survival drama of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life) will stream on Netflix from July 19, said south Indian arm of the stream giant. The filme, helmed by Blessy, will be available in five different languages on the platform.

Based on 2008 bestselling novel named ‘Aadujeevitham’ by Benyamin, the Malayalam film follows Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer who finds himself forced into slavery as a goatherd in the secluded farm of Saudi Arabia.

 

The film has raked in more than Rs 150 crore in global box office, a notable performance for a Malayalam movie.

Aadujeevitham is about the captivity of a Kerala native in a Saudi Arabian desert by a Bedouin kafeel (sponsor) and his ultimate escape. The movie is based on a novel written by a former Indian expatriate in Bahrain and famous writer Benyamin. The novel, that was released in 2008 had sourced the real life experience of Shukur aka Najeeb, a native of Kerala’s Alappuzha.

The movie was released globally on March 28, except in the Gulf countries like Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman. However, the movie hit the screens later in QatarBahrain, and Oman.

Apart from Prithviraj, it also have Amala Paul, K R Gokul, Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean Louis, Arab actors such as Talib al-Balushi, and Rik Aby in pivotal roles.
