Directed by Kaleess and produced by Atlee and Murad Khetani, Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John is all set to hit the big screen today, December 25. The Christmas release has been one of the much-awaited Hindi-language action thrillers that serves as a remake of 2016 Tamil film Theri.
Despite the competition from the national sensation Pushpa 2 being one of the highest-grossing Indian movies, Baby John has crossed Rs 3.5 crore in advance sales, with around 1 lakh, 26 thousand tickets being sold so far. As Pushpa 2 continues to rule the box office, the competition in the national chains is expected to be more stiff.

However, given the hype and the season, it is inferred that Baby John may cross a double-digit number today itself, as the release comes in the Christmas festive season. The movie might benefit from the holidays, though the early review will significantly impact the box office performance.

Apart from Varun Dhawan, the movie stars Keethy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in the leading roles. Actor Vijay has congratulated the team, wishing the movie ‘blockbuster success.’ As per the early reviews of the movie, while Kalees and Atlee tried to retain the massy and intensive sequences of Theri. Baby John‘s screenplay and writing fell behind the earlier sensation. The early feedbacks point out that the action sequences appear illogical in some sequences.
