CBI Arrests Odisha Natives For Posing As Government Officials, Collecting Bribe, Rs 3.7 Crore Seized

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday, November arrested Ajit Kumar Patra, and his associate Minku Lal Jain, natives of Odisha, for allegedly impersonating government officials and taking bribes.

The fraud came to light after the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), Jaipur, raided the premises of M/s Cybdeer Network private limited of CEO, Vinod Parihar. The probe team then took the duo into custody red-handed while they were allegedly accepting the bribe money from an individual sent by Parihar.

A statement issued by the CBI said that Patra and Jain impersonated senior officials of various government departments, ministries, enforcement agencies and judicial establishments, and gained undue favors in exchange for illegal gratification.

During the raid at multiple locations in New Delhi, Rajasthan and Odisha, the CBI seized Rs 3.7 crore cash, gold jewelry weighing around 1 kg, 26 property-related documents, four luxury cars and 12 other vehicles from the accused.
