Delhi Chief Minister Issues Austerity Measures For Govt Employees Amid West Asia Crisis

New Delhi: Following prime minister Modi’s austerity measures, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta-led government on Thursday announced new directives for government employees, including work-from-home (WFH) for two days in a workweek aiming at saving fuel amid conflict West Asia.

The chief minister issued a slew of directives which included restrictions on foreign trips for one year, change in office timing, restriction on vehicle purchase for six months. The chief minister also announced that the buses will be arranged for government employees.

The measures follows after the chief minister reduced her official convoy by around 60% following Prime Minister Modi and Home Minster Amit Shah’s push for austerity in government functioning.

Prime Minister and the Home Minister have reduced the size of his convoy significantly.
