Demonstrating a recently published research report as proof, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday took his X handle (formerly Twitter) to slam Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP led Union government, as they are “robbing the future” of the graduated Indian youth by keeping them “jobless”.

“42.3% of India”s graduates below the age of 25 are unemployed. Modi Govt has robbed them of their future by keeping them jobless”, said Mr Kharge.

The report, ‘State of Working India 2023: Social Identities and Labour Market Outcomes’, was published on Wednesday by the Centre for Sustainable Employment of the Bengaluru-based Azim Premji University.

The Congress President also questioned the BJP government”s poll assurance of providing two crore jobs every year to the unemployed youths of India.

“The promise of 2 Cr jobs per year, echoes like a cruel joke in the hearts and minds of our young”, said Mr Kharge. He also condemned the sad saga of Indian youth to secure a job after completing graduation. “The process from graduation to getting a job is a sad story of daily struggle”, he added.

Mr Kharge quizzed the federal government”s attitude, that resists PM Modi to acknowledge failure and keep him blind to the exact situation amid glorifying and propagating “Amrit Kaal”.

“Amrit Kaal” is a concept, introduced by the Union government on the occasion of India”s 75th Independence Day. It is the Prime Minister”s vision to emerge India a “technology-driven and knowledge-based economy with strong public finances, and a robust financial sector” by 2047, reported PIB.

“Pity, that instead of acknowledging their failure, BJP has turned a blind eye to this looming disaster! Phrases like “Amrit Kaal” have only rubbed salt into the wounds of our YOUTH!”, wrote Mr Kharge on X.

“The youth need to now take matters into their own hands and hold the government accountable for their plight. They better know that a government, which could not create employment in 10 years, will never be able to do so”, he added.

“To protect the future, change this government!”, asserted Mr Kharge in conclusion.
