
'Next Is Big Boss': Military Officers Including Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh's KBC Participation Sparks Debate
New Delhi: ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC), hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, has hosted a special episode featuring three women defense officers – Colonel Sofiya Qureshi from the Indian Army, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh from the Indian Air Force, andabout Commander Prerna Deosthalee from the Indian Navy. The episode will be aired on August 15.
The development has ignited debate the military ethics and dignity. The officers are likely to share their professional experiences, especially about Operation Sindoor, which India recently launched into terror targets inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The KBC has released a promo video showing the military officers, sparking debate and discussion online. While many called the development an inspiration to others, some were critical as the program was unprecedented, and does not align with the dignity of the armed forces.
The promo aired recently has, however, grabbed public attention, with the appearance of Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, who were the face of Operation Sindoor. Several social media users slammed the use of armed forces for “PR” and “political mileage”.
A retired Indian army officer, Lt Col Sushil Singh Sheoran invoked a Turkish proverb ‘When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king; the palace turns into a circus,’ adding that the upcoming event will be therefore big boss.
“I suggest Col Mukul Dev should also be invited to the show. It seems this is the flavor of the season. I didn’t know this army for sure,” the former army veteran wrote on X.
