Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday visited the Kirti Nagar furniture market in Delhi, and interacted with carpenters at work.
In the reaching out exercise, Mr. Gandhi visited the famous furniture market of Kirti Nagar, conversed with the carpenters and tried his hand at carpentry. Sharing the photos on Instagram, he wrote: “These are amazing artists as well as hardworking – specializing in carving strength and beauty! Had a lot of talks, tried to learn a bit of their skills and tried to learn a little.”

The Congress sharing the images on X, wrote: “Keep moving forward…” and Indian Youth Congress captioned it as a meeting between the architect of country’s future hopes and the architects of Asia”s largest furniture market. They also added: “Bharat Jodo Yatra is still on.”

Last week, Mr. Gandhi has visited porters at Anand Vihar Railway station and talked to them about their issues and concerns. He donned the coolie uniform and even lifted luggage on his head. In August, he met fruit and vegetable vendors in Azadpur Mandi in the national capital, and conversed about the rising prices of food items.
Earlier, Mr. Gandhi made a surprise visit to villagers and farmers in the Haryana”s Sonipat district and interacted with them. Few months before, he undertook a journey from Delhi to Chandigarh in a truck and listened to the problems of the truck drivers.
Mr. Gandhi with the aim of uniting India has executed the Bharat Jodo Yatra in last year. Started on September 7, after having travelled 4,000 km and went on for 136 days, it had concluded on January 30 in Srinagar. The march has covered 12 states and two Union Territories.
Through reaching out exercises, and interactions Congress is gearing up towards upcoming general elections.
