“Wish Her Full And Speedy Recovery”: Congress After Mamata Banerjee Met With Minor Accident

Congress today wished a full and speedy recovery for West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee after reports emerged that she met with a minor accident in which she suffered “little injuries”.

“We have just heard of the injury suffered by Mamata Banerjee-ji in a car accident. We wish her a full and speedy recovery,” Congress leader Jairam Ramesh posted on X.

Congress” message after the INDIA alliance seat sharing talks fall through in the state is significant. Earlier in the day, Mamata Banerjee announced that her party will be contesting all 42 constituencies in the state alone, forgoing the earlier announcement of INDIA alliance, where the Bengal CM”s party and Congress are part of, that they will contest the elections together “as far as possible”.

However, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, while addressing a press conference, said the INDIA bloc would fight like an alliance in West Bengal and hoped that future seat-sharing talks with the TMC would bear fruit, reported India Today.

Later, Ms Banerjee has told the media that she wasn”t told about the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which caused further murmurs about Trinamool Congress distancing them completely from the Congress-led alliance. Reports have said the Congress leadership has sent official emails to Mamata Banerjee to ensure her participation in the Rahul Gandhi-led public outreach programme ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Amid the rumours that Trinamool Congress won’t be joining the east to west Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra as it enters West Bengal tomorrow, Mr Ramesh, used the same X post to mention the Yatra details.

”The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is looking forward to entering West Bengal tomorrow late morning. January 26 and 27th being break days, the Yatra will resume on the 28th,” he added.
