RRB Recruitment 2024: Railways Announces 7,951 Openings; Details Here
The Indian Railways has announced the recruitment of 7,951 posts across various positions for 2024. The positions include Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA), Chemical Supervisor (Research), and Metallurgical Supervisor (Research). The recruitment will be undertaken by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) across the country. For this RRB recruitment, interested candidates must submit their applications online by August 29, 2024. The application modification window will be open from August 30 to September 8, 2024.
17 positions in Chemical Supervisor, Research and Metallurgical Supervisor and Research are only in RRB Gorakhpur, and the rest of the 7,934 positions for the Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant recruitment will be undertaken in all the RRBs, including RRB Bhopal, RRB Banglore, RRB Chennai, RRB Kolkata, RRB Ajmer, RRB Allahabad, RRB Bhubaneshwar, RRB Bilaspur, RRB Chandigarh, RRB Gorakhpur, RRB Guwahati, RRB Jammu, RRB Malda, RRB Mumbai, RRB Muzaffarpur, RRB Patna, RRB Ranchi, RRB Secunderabad, RRB Siliguri and RRB Trivendrum.
The recruitment aims to fill vacancies in multiple railway zones, and candidates must meet the eligibility criteria specified in the official notification.
RRB Recruitment 2024: Key Details
1. Positions Available: Junior Engineer, DMS, CMA, Chemical & Metallurgical Supervisors.
2. Application Deadline: August 29, 2024, by 23:59 hours.
3. Modification Window: August 30 to September 8, 2024.
4. Total Vacancies: 7,951 across various Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).
5. Age Limit: 18-36 years as of January 1, 2025.
6. Educational Requirements: Candidates must fulfill qualifications by the closing date.
7. Selection Process: Two-stage Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME).
8. Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deduction for each wrong answer in CBT.
9. Application Process: Only one RRB application per candidate through official RRB websites. Candidates, according to the Indian Railways, should apply only through online mode through the official websites of any RRBs. Candidates can apply to only one RRB and only one common online application (in order of preference for any or all the notified posts). “The selection of RRB once exercised shall be final. Application to more than one RRB by a candidate will lead to rejection of all the applications,” the RRB notification said.
10. Pay Scale: Level 6 and Level 7 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with initial pay ranging from ₹35,400 to ₹44,900.
The Railways said the vacancies notified in this CEN or Centralised Employment Notice may increase or decrease as per requirement of the Railway Administration concerned. The current recruitment notice number is CEN No. 03/2024, and the candidates should refer to this notice for all their future communication and references.
