UPPRPB Invites Applications For 537 SI, ASI Vacancies
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) is inviting applications for the Sub-inspector (SI) and Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI). Candidates can visit the official website at uppbpb.gov.in to apply for the posts.
The board has opened 537 vacancies, including 112 for SI (Confidential), 311 for ASI (Clerk), and 114 for ASI (Accountants). The registration window will close on January 19, 2026.
The application fee is Rs 500 for general, EWS/OBC, and Rs 400 for SC/ST candidates. The charge should be paid online.
Eligibility Criteria
For Sub-inspector (Confidential)
- Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university/board/institution in India, or equivalent qualification
- Typing speed requirements:
- English typing: 35 words per minute (WPM)
- Hindi typing: 25 words per minute (WPM)
- Hindi stenography speed: 80 words per minute (WPM)
Except for stenography, all qualifications remain the same as SI for ASI (Clerk) and ASI (Accountant).

Exam pattern
The selection will take place based on the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Candidates who qualify for the PET will appear for the written exam.
The written exam will be a total of 400 marks. There will be 200 questions in the written exam. The question paper will be divided into four sections: general Hindi, general knowledge, numerical ability, and mental ability. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
