The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Mains admit cards. Candidates can now download it from the official website – upsc.gov.in. The UPSC CSE Main exams are scheduled to commence from September 20, 2024.
This year UPSC announced a total of 1,056 vacancies for the CSE along with 150 posts for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS) exam. Out of the total vacancies 40 seats are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities. This include 6 vacancies for candidates with blindness and low vision, 12 for deaf or hard of hearing, 9 for individuals with locomotor disabilities and 13 for those whith multiple disabilities including deaf-blindness.
Those who qualified for the Civil Services (Main) Examination were need to apply again and submit the Detailed Application Form -I (DAF-I) along with scanned supporting documents.
The allotment of centres was based on a ‘first apply first allot’ principle as there was a limit on the number of candidates assigned to each examinaion centre except for Chennai, Kolkata, Nagpur and Dispur. Those who could not secure their preferred centre had to choose from the remaining available centres.
Candidates are advised to check their admit cards carefully for any discrepancies.
Civil Services Exam comprises of three stages – the first stage is the Preliminary exam which is an objective-type test; second stage is the Mains exam or written exam and the third stage is personal interview. Those qualifying all the stages are recommended for the central services.
