In the Lok Sabha polls, the contest between Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Govind Ram Meghwal in Bikaner was the major highlight. Arjun Ram Meghwal, three-time BJP MP, and  from Bikaner, won for the fourth consecutive time in Bikaner. The two rivals had come face to face in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections last time.

Arjun Ram Meghwal won the seat with a lead of 55,711-vote margin in the constituency, securing a total of 566,737 votes, which is 50.68 percent of the total polling. While the Congress candidate, Govind Ram Meghwal, only managed to bag 511,026 with 45.7 percent of total votes. Though the constituency faced a tough battle between the two political maestros.

Political veteran, Govind Ram Meghwal, began political career from BJP, contested in the assembly elections for the first time in 1998 from Nokha assembly segments. In the polls, he faced defeat and in 2003 he registered the first victory on the BJP ticket.

Bikaner Lok Sabha is one of the constituencies that BJP has a stronghold in the state. Out of eight assembly segments that fall under the Bikaner constituency, six assembly segments are under the rule of BJP, while Congress manages to settle down in only two assembly segments.

NOTA finished third in the constituency, by placing Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Kheta Ram in the fourth position. Kheta Ram bagged 8,299 votes while NOTA gained 12,558 votes from the constituency.
