The opposition bloc Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will hold meetings today in Mumbai and expected to announce a coordination committee of 11 members from the principal opposition parties.
- The alliance is set to unveil a logo today.
- The alliance’s meeting will start at 11 am today and they would issue a joint statement and address a press conference later.
- A team of spokespersons are expected to be announced.
- There would be a discussion on deciding a convener for the alliance.
- Reportedly, Mamata Banerjee asked the alliance to come out with its manifesto by October 2.
- During Friday’s deliberations, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked the alliance partners to finalise seat sharing for upcoming Lok Sabha elections by end of this month.
- For the coordination committee members, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge asked the alliance partners to give one name each from their respective parties.
- Apart from the coordination committee, NDTV reported that, there will be sub-groups for campaigns, rallies and social media.
- This is the third meeting of the alliance partners, they had met in Patna and Bengaluru before.
- Leaders of the INDIA alliance, while talking to the media ahead of the meeting, reiterated their commitment to have a united opposition against PM Modi-led NDA alliance for the 2024 general elections.
