"Parliament Is Now Being Used As An Election Platform": Saket Gokhale Slams BJP And PM Modi

TMC MP Saket Gokhale on Saturday slammed the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using Parliament as an election platform. TMC leader”s criticism came in response to the quick introduction of a discussion topic “Historic Ram Mandir & Pran Pratishtha” as the revised list of business for today”s Rajya Sabha.

In a social media post, in astonishment TMC leader remarked, “SHOCKING” and attacked the Modi government for “diminishing and mocking Parliament AGAIN with this shocking item”, i. e., the introduction of Ram Temple discussion.

“In a hastily “revised” List of Business for today which was issued late last night, Modi Govt has announced a discussion today in Rajya Sabha on: “Historic Ram Mandir & Pran Pratishtha.” Is this a topic of Parliamentary Discussion? What exactly is there in this to “discuss”?,” he wrote.

“Parliament is now being used as an election platform by an increasingly desperate BJP & Modi,” Saket Gokhale tweeted. He has also attested a copy of Rajya Sabha”s “Revised List of Business” notice and underlined short duration discussion titled “Shree Ram Mandir Ke Etihasic Nirman aur Pran Pratishta” (Historic construction of Shree Ram Temple and Pran Pratishta). The discussion is proposed to be conducted by BJP MPs, Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi, Dr K Laxman, and Rakesh Sinha.

On Friday, during Zero Hour in Parliament, Saket Gokhale spoke about the Centre”s imposition of Hindi over English and other regional languages in government business, and argued that it was against the federal structure.
