Rubika Liyaquat To Join News18 India As Consulting Editor: Report

Senior television journalist Rubika Liyaquat is set to assume the role of consulting editor at News18 India. Formerly holding the position of Vice President at Bharat 24, Liyaquat, who has been called pro-right and pro-establishment journalist for the leanings she undertakes in her shows and interviews, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her extensive career includes a five-year tenure with ABP News.

“New beginnings,” Rubika Liyaquat wrote on X about her new journey.

Embarking on her journalistic journey in 2007, Rubika Liyaquat has been associated with prominent media organizations such as News 24, Aaj Tak, Zee News, and Live India TV.

Liyaquat, who was among fourteen news anchors whom the Opposition INDIA alliance decided to boycott, not only enjoys immense popularity on television but also commands a substantial following on social media platforms.

The anchors the INDIA alliance in last September boycotted include Aditi Tyagi (Bharat Express), Aman Chopra (News 18 Hindi), Amish Devgan (News 18 Hindi), Anand Narasimhan (News 18 English), Arnab Goswami (Republic TV), Ashok Shrivastav (DD News), Chitra Tripathi (Aa Tak), Gaurav Sawant (India Today), Navika Kumar (Times Now), Prachi Parashar (India TV), Shiv Aroor (India Today), Sudhir Chaudhary (Aaj Tak) and Sushant Sinha (Times Now Navbharat) apart from Liyaquat.

News18 India, the Hindi news channel currently owned by Network18 Media and Investment Limited, a business entity controlled by billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Limited, boasts a distinguished editorial team featuring journalists such as Prateek Trivedi, Kishore Ajwani, Amish Devgan, and Aman Chopra.

Last week, the channel welcomed another prominent figure in TV news, Pankaj Bhargava, who transitioned from India TV, where he held a prominent position during prime time hours.
