'Not Love Jihad': Viral Mahakumbh Girl Monalisa Says She Married As Per Hindu Rituals
Mahakumbh viral girl Monalisa Bhonsle recently married her boyfriend, Farman Khan, in a temple ceremony in Kerala, after approaching Kerala police seeking protection from her father at the Thampanoor Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram.
After the marriage, there have been allegations that it was love Jihad, demanding to lodge a POSCO case against the boyfriend, claiming the girl is only 17 years of age. However, Monalisa, in a press conference on Thursday, explained that her marriage is not Love Jihad, and she got married as per Hindu rituals, the girl was heard saying in a video shared by news agency PTI.

Addressing the rumors that Manalisa was underage, the police clarified that they examined the girl’s age and verified before helping her with the wedding.
The girl had approached the police in Kerala alleging that her father was trying to take her back to Indore against her wishes. She said she did not want to return with her father and intended to marry her partner.

Monalisa became an overnight internet sensation last year during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, when videos of her distinctive amber eyes and her work selling garlands and bangles at the festival went viral on social media.
