Viral ‘Mahakumbh Girl’ Monalisa Bhosle Marries Boyfriend Farman Khan At Kerala Temple
Monalisa Bhosle, the young woman who shot to national fame during the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, has married her boyfriend, Farman Khan in an interfaith ceremony in Kerala, drawing widespread public attention and political support.
The 18-year-old social media sensation tied the knot with Farman Khan on March 11 at the Arumanoor Sri Nainaar Deva Temple, located near the coastal town of Poovar in Thiruvananthapuram.
The ceremony was conducted amid police protection after the couple approached authorities seeking safety due to opposition from the bride’s family.
Before the wedding, Monalisa and Farman reportedly took refuge at the Thampanoor Police Station.

According to the reports, Monalisa filed a complaint stating that her father, Jai Singh Bhosle, had been pressuring her to return home and was allegedly attempting to force her into marriage with a relative.
Police officials intervened and summoned her family to the station. Authorities reportedly clarified that since Monalisa is legally an adult at 18, she has the right to decide her future and who she wishes to live with.
Following the discussion, Monalisa chose to leave the station with Farman. The couple then proceeded to solemnise their marriage at the temple
The wedding unexpectedly turned into a public event, with several prominent Kerala leaders attending the ceremony to show solidarity with the couple.
Among those present were V. Sivankutty, M. V. Govindan and A. A. Rahim.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister Sivankutty reportedly described the wedding as “the real Kerala story,” highlighting the state’s reputation for social harmony and individual freedom.
The ceremony itself was modest but symbolic. Monalisa wore a bright red saree adorned with traditional sindoor, while Farman appeared in a simple white shirt paired with a traditional mundu, reflecting Kerala’s customary attire.
Despite the tensions surrounding the relationship, the couple appeared relaxed during the ceremony, surrounded by supporters and well-wishers.
Monalisa first gained national attention during the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. A video showing her selling rudraksha beads and garlands at the religious gathering quickly went viral on social media.
