As Euro 2024 nears its end, shedding major teams, the stage has served not just to crown the big football stars but also as a launching pad for young talents. Following the footsteps of the legends, the young players made their Euro debut making a sensational breakout.
Without breaking the convention, just like the previous edition, this season too unearthed many gems along its journey. Though the season began with higher expectations from the football’s biggest stars, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappe and Hary Kane, the continent’s exciting young talents had stolen the headlines many a time.

One among them is the Spanish prodigy Lamine Yamal who wowed the audience. With the semi-finals approaching, lets have a look at the young talents who have shone brightest in the tournament.
Despite the tender years, the Barcelona teen, 16-year-old Lamine Yamal has been one of the best players at the tournament. He has showcased 87.4% passing accuracy rate, 15 chances created, and 25 touches in the opposition box.
As expected, the German’s 21-year-old Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala was also a noted player in the Euro. He has scored three goals in four games, completed 14 successful dribbles, 89.2% passing accuracy rate alongside 28 touches in the opposition box. However, he had to bid goodbye to the tournament after being knocked out in the quarter-finals.
Yet another German talent is Florian Wirtz who had exhibited a charismatic aura with his incredible footballing skills until their last eight elimination. He began with an opening goal of the tournament in a 5-1 win over Scotland.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham has arguably become the central component of the Three Lions since his star turn at the 2022 World Cup.
Turkey’s Arda Guller, a 19-year-old outperformed some of his Real Madrid teammates. He has also become the youngest player to score on their Euros debut- breaking the record of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tournament favorites Spain’s group stage performance has amazed footballing fans. And no players were impressed more than the 21-year-old Nico Williams. The winger has been a constant attacking threat for the Spaniards, particularly in the 1-0 win over Italy where he was named the player of the match.
