IND-W Vs IRL-W Live: India Women's Cricket Team Takes On Ireland In Thrilling ODI Series.
The Indian women’s cricket team, led by Smriti Mandhana is set to face off against Ireland in a highly anticipated three-match ODI series.
The first match is currently underway at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot with Ireland winning the toss and opting to bat first.
The Indian team is coming off an impressive whitewash against the West Indies in both the ODI and T20I series.
Smriti Mandhana was in sublime form, scoring 148 runs in the ODIs and 193 runs in the T20Is. Harleen Deol was the top scorer in the ODI series with 160 runs, while Renuka Singh finished as the highest wicket-taker with 10 scalps. However, Renuka Singh has been rested for the series against Ireland, along with regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
In their absence, the Indian team will rely on newcomers like Titas Sadhu and Saima Thakor to carry the bowling department, along with vice-captain Deepti Sharma.

Sadhu has picked three wickets in her ODI career, while Thakor has scalped seven in eight matches. The batting unit will be led by Smriti Mandhana, along with Jemimah Rodrigues and Pratika Rawal, who performed brilliantly in the ODIs against the West Indies.
Ireland, on the other hand, will be led by captain Gaby Lewis who has won the toss and opted to bat first. The Irish team will be looking to put up a strong performance against the Indian team, which is considered one of the top teams in women’s cricket.
The ODI series between India and Ireland marks the first-ever bilateral assignment featuring the two teams. The remaining two matches will be played at the same venue on January 12 and 15, respectively.

As the match is currently underway, the Indian team will be looking to restrict the Irish team to a low score and then chase it down to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The Irish team, on the contrary, will be looking to put up a strong performance and cause an upset against the Indian team.
