As Manchester City continue to face pushbacks and defeats, multiple reports suggest that Premier League club’s manager Pep Guardiola is planning to sign a deal with football legend Lionel Messi to get his team back on track as the second half approaches. Pep had seen his golden age of managing career at Barcelona when the Argentine legend led the Catalan attack which delivered the Spanish manager many laurels including three La Ligas, two UEFA Champions League and two FIFA Club World trophies.
The Manchester City manager’s decision follows the team having suffered nine defeats, two draws, and just one win in their last 12 matches, though Pep Guardiola’s side was performing well until their English Football League (EFL) Cup Round of 16 match against Tottenham. Since then the club’s momentum has suddenly collapsed. In the latest among the defeats, City lost to Aston Villa on Saturday for 2-1 at Villa Park. The team which has six Premier League trophies with Pep and one UEFA Champions League, is currently placed at 6th position with 27 points from 17 matches behind table leaders Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

The Pep Guardiola reportedly advised a strategy to overcome Rodri’s injury, which ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee during City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September. With the injury of the defensive midfielder, Pep Guardiola had suggested that the player would not be able to appear for the rest of the season.
However, it is inferred that the Man City manager is content with Ilkay Gundogan to replace injured Rodri’s position, as per reports. Instead, Guardiola is looking for the Argentine sensation Messi for a boost for the team amid setbacks. After winning the recent FIFA World Cup and the 2024 Copa America, the Argentine player has been continuing his magical saga with the football, inculcating trust in those signing with him.
