Jio AirFibre To Be Launched Tomorrow At The Markets (Image: You Tube/Jio)
Reliance would be launching its Jio AirFiber on Ganesh Chaturthi, tomorrow on September 19. The launch was announced at the Reliance Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held on August 28, 2023. Jio AirFiber, is a broadband service which is a Fixed Wireless Access Communication device with a plug in and use mechanism.
It would enter the markets with the promise of 1.5 Gbps, 5G internet speed, and enable fibre-like speed over the air without any wires. Jio AirFiber will just have to be plugged in, and turned on. It is more like a personal wi-fi hotspot, connected to ultra-high-speed internet which uses True 5G. Jio AirFibre would allow customers to be connected quickly to Gigabit-speed Internet, said Jio website. The Jio device will not need any assistance to set it up and is designed for home and office use.
During the AGM, while launching the device, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, had said that “Jio AirFiber is designed to be a straightforward plug-and-play solution, making it more user-friendly and accessible to customers.”
The price of Jio AirFiber has not been revealed. There are speculations that it could be priced at Rs. 6000, Business Today reported. With the new device, users will be able to undergo an experience of unlimited streaming of HD videos, online gaming, have virtual events like video conferences without any hassles from internet speed issues. It comes with features like 40 % faster Wi-Fi speed and blocking of internet on any device. The installation is easy via Jio”s home app. Other benefits include, that the device is enabled to support Wi-Fi 6, it is equipped with parental controls and it also has security firewalls for security, the Quint said. More reports on Jio AirFibre is yet to hit the market, and for now, with other things kept unpacked, only the news of the launch has been released.
Recently Airtel had launched its Airtel Xstream AirFiber during the first week of September, which is currently available only at Delhi and Mumbai. it comes at a price of Rs. 7, 733.
