OnePlus Open To Launch Today In India

OnePlus is all set to launch the OnePlus Open, the brand”s first foldable smartphone, in the Indian market. The launch event, titled ‘Open for Everything’, is scheduled to take place at 7:30 PM today in Mumbai. The much-anticipated event will be live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of OnePlus.

On October 9, the Chinese manufacturer officially teased the India launch of the OnePlus Open. In the post shared on X, the device is teased in a semi-folded manner. The recently introduced Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 by Samsung and Tecno”s Phantom V Fold are the main competitors for OnePlus in the foldable market. As per the leaks, the device is expected to have a 48-megapixel Sony LYTIA-T808 sensor. The OnePlus Open is also likely to be equipped with Qualcomm”s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with up to 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. The device may also feature a 7.8-inch 2K AMOLED inner screen and a 6.3-inch AMOLED outer panel, along with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The foldable smartphone market is witnessing positive momentum as several brands introduce their foldable devices to the market. According to Counterpoint Research”s report, global foldable smartphone shipments are projected to reach 101.5 million in 2027, up from 78.6 million in 2026. The report also indicated that Samsung and Apple will have the biggest market share. While South Korean manufacturer Samsung has a wide range of premium foldables, Apple has not yet revealed any plans regarding the foldable segment.
