Samsung Electronics is all prepared to launch the Galaxy SmartTag 2 in the global market on October 11. Compared to the previous model, Samsung has given several upgrades to this smart tracking device. The first Galaxy SmartTag was launched in January 2021.

Samsung claims that the battery life of the Galaxy SmartTag 2, with a price tag of $30, may last up to 700 days, when it is switched to Power Saving Mode. Samsung also says that even in Normal Mode, battery life is extended to 500 days, which is a 50 percent boost over the previous model. It also has an IP67 label, which indicates that the device is dust and water-resistant. The SmartTag 2 comes with a ring-shaped structure and compact design.

The Lost Mode feature is the main highlight of the Galaxy SmartTag 2. With this function, users can add their contact details to the tag by sending a message. If any other individual comes across an item with the SmartTag 2 attached, they can easily scan the contact information of the owner. The company says that this important feature will work with any mobile device with a web browser and NFC reader. This smart tracker is also equipped with an improved Compass View feature. This will provide arrows to indicate the location and distance of the SmartTag2 relative to user’s position. The demand for smart trackers for tracking various day-to-day life items is growing exponentially, and Samsung is trying to achieve the top position in this sector by embedding different sensors and processors in the tracker.
