Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag2 to capture the smart tracker market. The new device, which provides enhancements to the Galaxy SmartTag line, is scheduled to make a global release on October 11. This ring-shaped device arrives in the market as a successor of the first Samsung Galaxy SmartTag, which was released in January 2021.

The SmartTag2 features a sleek design with a compact size and a ring-shaped structure. It is also equipped with IP67 water and sun resistance rating. Samsung claims that these features enables users to track their items in every challenging environments. Samsung also offer up to 700 days of battery life for the SmartTag2 with a new Power Saving Mode. The company mentioned in its website that even in Normal Mode, battery life is extended to 500 days, which is a 50 percent increase on previous version.

Galaxy SmartTag2 is an improved version of the previous model and Samsung says that it will redefine the way the users keep track of their valuables. Improved Compass View feature is the main highlight of the SmartTag2. It will be providing arrows to show the location and distance of the SmartTag2 relative to user”s position. This mode is available on premium Galaxy smartphones including Galaxy S23 Ultra.

A new Lost Mode feature is the another update in the Galaxy SmartTag2. It will permit users to add their contact information via a message. Anyone who finds an item with a Galaxy SmartTag2 can scan the tag and get the owners’ contact information. Mobile device with NFC reader and web browser will support this major feature.
