Qatar Shuts Down Airspace Temporarily Amid Threats Of Iranian Retaliation

Amid development in the region, Qatar Foreign Ministry had announced the temporary closure of its airspace on Monday. The shutdown had come following Iran’s continuous retaliation threat against United States. A number of schools are also ordered to shut for tomorrow.

Earlier, the US and UK embassies had released statement requesting the residents in the region to take shelters in places until further notice. Qatar is home to US largest military base, Al Udeid Air Base. According to the State Department, 8,000 US citizens lives there.

In a statement on Monday, the Qatar authorities have announced that all official entities are closely monitoring the situation, evaluating developments in coordination with regional and international partners and will provide the public with updates through official channels.

The closure marks a significant step in regional aviation disruption as Gulf nations ramp up emergency protocols in response to the escalating conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States.
