Saudi Crown Prince Pledges To Stand By Palestine (image-twitter/KSAmofaEN)

Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman discussed the military escalation in Gaza and its surrounding areas during a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday. They also discussed about the deteriorating situation that threatens the lives of civilians and the security and stability of the region.

During the phone call, the Crown Prince emphasized that Saudi Arabia is making every effort to engage with all international and regional parties to halt the ongoing escalation and prevent its expansion in the region.

He also stated that the Kingdom will continue to support and stand by Palestinian people in their pursuit of their legitimate rights to a decent life, realizes their hope and aspiration, and achieve just and lasting peace.

In response to the phone call, Palestine President expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia and appreciated their steadfast stance and their efforts to stand by the Palestinian people.

The crown prince also held separate phone calls with Jordan King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, during which he urged increased international efforts to stop the escalation in Gaza and prevent the spread of conflict across the region.

Saudi Arabia has called for an “immediate halt to the escalation of conflict between Palestinians and Israel” after Hamas militants carried out an unprecedented attack on daybreak Saturday.

Saudi Arabia’s foreign affairs ministry said in a statement that it “is closely following developments in the unprecedented situation between a number of Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation forces, which has resulted in a high level of violence taking place on a number of fronts there.”
