The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday had a conversation with the US Secretary of State on the prevailing Israel-Hamas tensions. Both the countries exchanged their concerns and dangers of escalating military charges.

Israel and Palestine are on the third day of a brutal conflict which began on Saturday after Hamas started an unprecedented ‘surprise’ attack on Israel. The Palestine militant group launched an aerial-ground operation from the Gaza strip in the early hours of Saturday morning and the operation named ‘Operation Al-Aqsa Storm’ was a deadly surprise that consisted of a barrage of 3000 rockets and an infiltration into the southern part of Israel. Hundreds were killed, thousands wounded and many more are displaced.

According to the foreign ministry of Saudi Arabia, minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received a phone call from the United States Secretary of States, Antony Blinken, on Monday. The officials in the call exchanged dialogues on the ‘’danger of the continuing military escalation in Gaza and its surroundings’’. They were also concerned of the defusal measures and urged for the international community to act ‘’collectively’’, so that the repercussions of the fight can be reduced in an efficient manner.

The official statement released by the Saudi foreign ministry states that the leaders are also bothered about the urgent demand of restoring and maintaining ‘’international peace and security’’. ‘’The two sides also discussed regional and international developments and the efforts made on to address them’’, the note released on X (formerly Twitter) added.

US Department of State also issued a statement confirming the discussion as the State secretary ‘’encouraged Saudi Arabia’s continued engagement’’. ‘’Highlighted the United States’ unwavering focus on halting the terrorist attacks by Hamas and securing the release of all hostages’’, said Antony Blinken on X.
