US Secret Service Shoots Dead Gunman After He Allegedly Opened Fire Near White House

United States: A man has reportedly opened fire near the White House, prompting swift intervention by the US Secret Service. The members of the security service shot the gunman down after he opened fire at the White House checkpoint. 

According to the Secret Service, the incident marks the third shooting incident near US president Donald Trump over the past one month. The shooting incident occurred while President Trump was inside the building.

Last month, a heavily armed man opened fire at White House correspondents’ dinner party, causing panic and prompting the evacuation of the president and other top US officials. During the attack, one member of the national guard lost life while another sustained critical injuries.
