US Strikes Venezuela; Trump Claims To Capture Maduro

US President Donald Trump said to capture Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro and his wife and launched a ‘large-scale’ strike against the country. As per the reports giving Trump’s full statement, Maduro has been flown out of the country, though the details remain scarce.

Venezuela’s government demands ‘immediate proof of life’ for Maduro and his wife.

Venezuela has announced a state of national emergency and said it rejects and denounces ‘military aggression’.

The attack follows heightened tension as Trump ramped up pressure on Maduro.

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio anticipates no further action against Venezuela following the claimed capture of Nicolas Maduro, as per the BBC report.

According to the BBC report, Mike Lee, the Republican senator, has confirmed Venezuelan President Maduro’s arrest following a phone call with Rubio.

Earlier, Lee said in a post via X to look forward to it, if anything, might constitutionally justify the action in the absence of a declaration of war or authorization for the use of military force.

As per the experts details of the operation to capture Nicholas Maduro are yet to emerge, but it seems to have been an operation even more ambitious in its scope – succeeding in extracting the President and his wife without the use of conventional ground forces.
