Prof Manindra Agrawal Appointed IIT Kanpur Director

Prof Manindra Agrawal has been appointed as the director of premier technological institute Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. Currently Professor S Ganesh is the officiating director of the institute.

“The entire IIT Kanpur community warmly welcomes Prof. Manindra Agrawal as the Institute’s newly appointed Director,” said a statement from the Institute.

Prof. Agrawal, a professor at IIT Kanpur’s Department of Computer Science, is a pioneer in cybersecurity and blockchain in the country, and he has numerous accomplishments, including the development of the AKS Primality Test.

He has received the highest national and international honours for his contributions, including the Padma Shri Award, the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award, the Godel Prize, the Fulkerson Prize, and the first Infosys Prize for Mathematics, among others, the statement from IIT Kanpur said.

“He has always been a visionary and a leader, and we look forward to reaching even greater heights under his capable guidance,” the statement added.
