Rahul Gandhi “Unwell”; Misses INDIA Bloc’s Mega Rallies

Edited by Fazal Rahman Chembulangad

Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi will not be participating in the mega election rallies scheduled in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand today, according to an X post by Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary in charge of communication. The Congress leader has become “unwell,” missing the mega programs of the opposition INDIA bloc.

Rahul Gandhi had reportedly planned to address the mega election campaigns in Madhya Pradesh Satna and Jharkhand’s Ranchi today. Many opposition leaders have been scheduled to attend the event.

Taking to his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Jairam Ramesh wrote, “Shri Rahul Gandhi was all set to campaign today in Satna and Ranchi where the INDIA rally is being held. He took ill suddenly and is unable to leave New Delhi for the present. Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji is of course attending the Ranchi rally after addressing a public gathering in Satna.”

The events had posters of several opposition leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, AP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren. The posters appeared to be a show of opposition strength for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The mega rallies are expected to witness leaders that include Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita and Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana in the Ranchi.
