Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition Launched With Dark Edition At Rs 19.64 Lakh
The Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition is priced between Rs 19.64 lakh and Rs 24.14 lakh when it is first introduced in India. The Ebony variant, as the name suggests, is Mahindra’s latest attempt at an all-black SUV. However, the brand claims that it is intentionally not all-black. Additionally, Mahindra claims that the XUV700 Ebony was developed in response to customer input.
The nearly all-black versions cost roughly Rs 15,000 more than the variants they are based on, and Mahindra offers the Ebony version on the top-spec XUV700 AX7 and AX7 L models. It has the same engine choices as the versions on which it is based: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol with 200 horsepower and a 2.2-liter diesel with 185 horsepower and six-speed manual and automated gearbox options. Nevertheless, only the 7-seat and front-wheel-drive versions of the XUV700 Ebony are offered.
The XUV700 Ebony features a new shiny black paint shade that Mahindra calls Stealth Black, blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels (the design is the same as the standard model) and Ebony badges on the front fenders and tailgate. The contrasting elements come in the form of silver scuff plates on the front and rear bumpers. With the addition of this new version, the XUV700 is now available in a total of eight monotone and five dual-tone exterior finishes.
In order to make sure that the interior of the XUV700 Ebony isn’t all black, Mahindra has included contrasting components in addition to black leatherette upholstery (with white stitching on the seats) and a dark dash and door finish. The light gray roof liner is the most obvious contrasting element, but there are also silver plastic pieces on the dashboard and steering, as well as dark chrome accents on the gear console and steering-mounted buttons.
The XUV700 Ebony’s feature set and safety suite are the same as those of the versions on which it is based. The XUV700 AX7’s features include dual-zone climate control, a 6-way powered driver’s seat with memory, auto lighting and wipers, and a Level 2 ADAS suite. In contrast, the AX7 L has a 360-degree camera, a knee airbag (making seven in total), an automated parking brake, a 12-speaker sound system, heated front seats, rear LED sequential turn indicators, and a blind spot monitor.
