Maruti Fronx Velocity Edition Relaunched with Turbo and NA Petrol Engines

Maruti Suzuki has reintroduced the Fronx Velocity Edition, starting at an ex-showroom price of Rs 7.29 lakh. This special edition is available for a limited period across all 14 variants of the Fronx, including the 1.0L turbo and the 1.2L naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine options. Launched initially in March 2023, the Fronx has already achieved impressive sales, hitting the milestone of 1 lakh units earlier this year.

The Fronx Velocity Edition sports a more dynamic and sporty aesthetic, thanks to a range of standard accessories while keeping the overall design unchanged. The Indo-Japanese carmaker offers an aesthetic style kit in red and grey for this edition. Specific accessories vary by variant, enhancing the vehicle’s visual appeal and functionality.

For the Maruti Fronx 1.2L Velocity Edition Sigma, the enhancements include a front bumper painted garnish in black and red, headlamp garnish, wheel arch garnish, and a front grille garnish in opulent red. The Delta, Delta+, and Delta+ (O) variants build on this by adding body side moulding with red inserts, a rear bumper painted garnish in black and red, illuminated door sill guards, red dash designer mats, a rear upper spoiler extender in black and red, premium door visors, ORVM covers with a red dash finish, and a back door garnish.

The 1.0L turbo variants—Delta+, Alpha, and Zeta—include all the features of the 1.2L Delta+ variants plus an exterior styling kit in grey and red, NexCross black finish seat covers for Delta+, NexCross Bordeaux finish sleeve seat covers for Alpha and Zeta, an interior styling kit with a carbon finish, and a 3D boot mat.

In addition to these accessories, the Fronx Velocity Edition is equipped with modern amenities. These include a 9-inch touchscreen Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, a semi-digital instrument console, a Head-Up Display (HUD) with turn-by-turn navigation, and a 360-degree camera, depending on the chosen variant.

The Fronx Velocity Edition retains the same petrol engines as the standard model. The 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally aspirated unit produces 89 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque, while the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged unit delivers 99 bhp and 148 Nm of peak torque. There is also a CNG option with the 1.2-litre NA motor, offering 77 bhp and 98.5 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard for both engines.

Additionally, the 1.2-litre NA unit can be paired with a 5-speed AMT, whereas the 1.0-litre turbocharged engine is available with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

This re-launch offers customers a stylish and feature-rich option in the compact SUV segment, combining performance with a visually appealing design.
