Suzuki Fronx Just Got Smarter With Level 2 ADAS In Indonesia: Will India Be The Next One?

After India, it is the second nation to produce the Fronx.

In the Indonesian market, Suzuki has unveiled the Fronx with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). After India, it is the second nation to produce the Fronx. The small SUV is available for purchase in more than 70 nations worldwide, including those in Latin America and Africa. Will the most advanced ADAS safety feature be introduced in India? Maruti Suzuki is developing a hybrid version of the Fronx, although the automaker has not yet made any announcements on that front.

Improved safety features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and prevention, vehicle swaying warning, hill hold control, high beam assist, and a 360-degree camera are included in the international Fronx model’s Level 2 ADAS suite. Additionally, it has a head-up display, which the Indian model has.

The Fronx still has a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two USB Type A and Type C charging connections for the backseat passengers, a wireless charger, and climate control. Six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ABS with EBS, and an electronic stability programme are among the safety features included in the Fronx.

The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol mild hybrid powertrains seen in the Brezza and Grand Vitara are the source of power for the Indonesian Fronx variant. The 1.5-litre engine produces 100 horsepower and comes with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission.

In contrast, there are two engine options for the Fronx in India: a 1.2-litre normally aspirated engine and a 1-litre turbocharged engine. The latter receives the same manual gearbox or the 6-speed AT, while the former comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-step AMT.

In contrast to the present models in India, Suzuki has introduced the Fronx in Indonesia with a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine and a Level 2 ADAS package. Advanced ADAS technologies like adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring are now only available in foreign markets, even though the Indian Fronx has all the necessary safety features like six airbags and ESP.

Maruti Suzuki has not yet stated whether these cutting-edge safety features will be available in India, despite reports that a hybrid Fronx is being developed.
