The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara has been under development for a very long time. The all-electric SUV made its debut earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in India and at EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. Later on, we found out that the launch had been rescheduled from the first half of 2025 to September of the same year.

Finally, the Indo-Japanese automaker has submitted a patent application for the future electric SUV in India. There is no discernible alteration to the SUV’s design as it appears in the patent. An important location for the e Vitara’s production will be India. Suzuki’s new electric car manufacturing plant in Gujarat will produce the SUV.

Recently, some important information about the e Vitara appeared online. There will be three different models of the electric SUV: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. As previously stated, there will be two battery options for the e Vitara: 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh. While the Zeta and Alpha trims will include the 61.1kWh battery pack, the base Delta model will only be available with the Delta trim.

Two battery configurations will be offered for the e-Vitara: a 49 kWh pack with a single motor that produces 142 horsepower and 189 Nm of torque, and a 61 kWh alternative that produces 172 horsepower and the same amount of torque with a single motor. It will have three different driving modes: Sport, Normal, and Eco.

According to new information, a DC charger can charge the top-spec 61 kWh battery from 0% to 80% in 45 minutes. The e Vitara can reach 100 kmph from a stop in 8.7 seconds and has an estimated range of more than 500 kilometres. In contrast, the 49 kWh e Vitara takes 9.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph.

Dual digital screens, a 10.1-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch instrument console, ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, sliding and reclining seats, and USB and Type-C charging ports for both rows are just a few of the features that the top-spec e Vitara will have.

Safety features including a 360-degree camera, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), all-wheel disc brakes, an automatic parking brake with brake hold, seven airbags, including a driver knee airbag, an Emergency Call button, and an SOS button will support convenience. Additionally, it will benefit from Level 2 ADAS capabilities like Active Cornering Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive High Beam System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Multi-Collision Braking.
