Volkswagen To Launch 7-Seat Tayron SUV In India Soon
The Tiguan R-Line was recently introduced by Volkswagen at an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 49 lakh. The German automaker is getting ready to introduce a new SUV in India. A fully uncamouflaged VW Tayron test car has been spotted testing on Indian roads.
When the Tayron is introduced in India, it is anticipated to be dubbed the Tiguan Allspace. It is now available in a few foreign markets, such as Brazil. Between 2020 and 2022, the Tiguan was momentarily unavailable in India for those who were unaware. The German automaker sold the seven-seat Tiguan Allspace in the nation during this time as a totally imported CBU vehicle.

We think the Tayron might use the Tiguan nameplate in India for a number of reasons. To begin with, the Tayron and the Tiguan R-Line share a lot of visual similarities. This includes a big mesh-patterned air dam lower down the bumper up front, and a black grille panel flanked by slim LED headlights. Even the rear bumper and the 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels have a recognizable appearance to the Tiguan R-Line.
Upon closer inspection, the R badging beneath the left rearview mirror may be visible. This implies that the sportier version of the Tiguan Allspace will be offered. However, in terms of dimensions, the Tayron is clearly bigger than both the standard Tiguan and the Tiguan R-Line. Compared to the Tiguan R-Line, the Tayron is 9 mm taller, 7 mm wider, and 253 mm longer. Additionally, the Tayron’s wheelbase increases by 109mm. As a result, it will resemble its Czech cousin, the Skoda Kodiaq, in dimensions.

Unless a third row of seats is added, the Tayron’s interior design is probably going to be the same as the Tiguan R-Line’s. Three rows up, the boot space is 345 liters, but it can be increased to 850 liters, which is 198 liters more than the Tiguan.
The inside configuration of the Tayron is streamlined and primarily button-free. A 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster in front of the driver complements the 15-inch infotainment touchscreen that takes center stage. A panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, Level 2 ADAS, and other amenities are anticipated.
The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that powers the Tiguan R-Line and the second-generation Kodiaq is anticipated to power the Tayron. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an engine that produces 201 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Later this year, we anticipate Volkswagen will introduce the Tayron/Tiguan Allspace to India. The Tiguan Allspace is probably going to arrive in India as a wholly imported CBU model if it is based on the sportier R-Line specification.
