E Vitara To Be Shipped To All Major International Markets With 10-year Warranty

In the next weeks, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the e Vitara, marking its first foray into the electric vehicle market. The electric SUV debuted in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year in January, after making its debut globally at EICMA 2024 in November. Around the same time, the e Vitara will also be available for purchase in other foreign countries, such as the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Suzuki will provide a ten-year warranty to e Vitara owners in the following areas,as per a recent report. In European markets, the Japanese automaker typically provides a 3-year/100,000 km or 6-year/150,000 km guarantee on its vehicles. In India, automakers typically provide EV warranties of seven or eight years.

We expect that when Maruti Suzuki goes on sale in the UK and Ireland on May 1st, it will provide the same warranty that its parent firm does. If the e Vitara is scheduled for its next scheduled service at an authorized Suzuki Dealer, the warranty will become available once the vehicle’s original manufacturer warranty of three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, has ended.

After the next qualifying service, the warranty can be renewed once more, and so on, until the vehicle reaches the maximum age of ten years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty covers major components, and it can be transferred to the new owner at no additional cost if the customer decides to sell their car between servicing during the 10-year eligibility term.

Additionally, Suzuki vehicles with a break in their dealer service history or those purchased privately are also eligible for the Service Activated Warranty. The e Vitara is powered by lithium-iron-phosphate batteries and has an integrated eAxle that combines the motor and inverter. It is built on the brand-new Heartect-e platform, which was created in partnership with Toyota. Its sensitive design allows for smooth overtaking at a variety of speeds and rapid acceleration from a stop.

The e Vitara will be available with two battery options like 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The 49 kWh version is offered exclusively with 2WD, while the 61 kWh model is available in both a single-motor 2WD and a twin-motor AWD setup.

The 49 kWh variant produces 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque. The 61 kWh single-motor version delivers 172 bhp and 189 Nm with the single-motor version, while the range-topping AWD variant outputs 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.
