Skoda Teases New Compact SUV: Design and Performance Highlights
Skoda has once again teased its upcoming sub-4 metre SUV, set to debut in early 2025. This new addition to the compact SUV market will be built on the MQB A0 platform, similar to the Kushaq and Slavia. The latest teaser, the second in the series, highlights the vehicle’s solid, clean, and sharp design ethos, further fueling the excitement around this eagerly anticipated model.

Following in the footsteps of the Kushaq and the Kodiaq, the new sub-4 metre Skoda SUV will feature a wide, three-dimensional hexagon pattern grille with vertical slats framed in chrome. True to the compact SUV segment’s style, it will have short overhangs, particularly at the rear, and will showcase Skoda’s signature muscular front and rear bumpers.
The new teaser also reveals an upside-down L-shaped LED tail lamp with the Skoda name prominently displayed on the tailgate. Roof rails will be part of the design, enhancing the SUV’s practicality and rugged appeal. Although the name is still under wraps, Skoda has shortlisted several options, including Kwiq, Kariq, Kyroq, Kymaq, and Kylaq.

Under the hood, the new Skoda compact SUV is expected to house a 1-litre turbo petrol engine, the same powertrain found in the Kushaq and Slavia. This engine delivers an output of 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque and will be available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter. The new SUV is also anticipated to feature twin digital displays and front-ventilated seats, providing a modern and comfortable driving experience.
