2025 Skoda Kodiaq Launch In April With More Potent And Expressive Kodiaq

Skoda is preparing to introduce the second-generation Kodiaq in India following the Kylaq’s successful introduction. Three months ago, the new Kodiaq made its premiere on a global scale. Last month, it was on display at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Czech automaker’s plan to introduce the new Kodiaq to India in April of this year has already been confirmed.

During a recent media encounter on the sidelines of a media drive, Petr Janeba, the brand director for Skoda Auto India, verified this development. Additionally, Janeba indicated that Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K) trim levels will be offered for the 2025 Kodiaq.

The future Kodiaq will be locally assembled in India using Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits, just like the existing model. Over the previous few months, test cars of the high-end seven-seat SUV have been spotted a few times.

Compared to its predecessor, the next Skoda Kodiaq has a more aggressive and angular look. The front end features a new split headlamp design with larger primary units and LED daytime running lights, while yet retaining the iconic Skoda butterfly grille with vertical slats. Improved driver assistance capabilities are hinted at by a front-mounted radar sensor and a streamlined air dam.

The SUV’s side profile keeps its recognisable shape, but new alloy wheels and a longer rear overhang indicate more room inside. The Kodiaq gets a total makeover at the back, with optional D-pillar trim, roof-mounted spoiler, C-shaped LED taillights, and Skoda logo.

The Volkswagen Group’s MQB architecture served as the foundation for the new Kodiaq, which will remain available in India as a seven-seater SUV. It is 59 mm longer than its predecessor, measuring 4,758 mm in length, but its width, height, and wheelbase are all the same.

Although the Skoda Kodiaq’s interior has not yet been completely revealed, it is anticipated to roughly match the European model with a right-hand drive modification. LED matrix headlamps, a fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multi-color ambient lighting, a premium sound system, a 13-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, and a powered tailgate are some of the new Kodiaq’s key features.

Up to nine airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors are among the safety features that the Kodiaq will include. For added security, sophisticated driver assistance systems (ADAS) will also be installed. Notably, Euro gave the new Kodiaq a 5-star safety rating.
