The All New Kia Carens Named Clavis, To Be Unveiled On May 8

The updated Carens will make its premiere on May 8 and the Korean carmaker has officially revealed its name. , Kia unveiled a short teaser film for the upcoming MPV, which has been named Clavis. Kia will enhance the Carens model along with the present model, as was previously claimed.

The new MPV, which has a different design and is a more expensive option, will replace the Carens in the Kia India portfolio. The new Clavis will look considerably different from the Carens, as the most recent clip confirms. The Clavis will follow Kia’s new design ethos, which is evident in the company’s latest lineup of cars, including the Carnival, EV9, and Syros.

With the new LED headlamp configuration that features a three-pod system with a triangular housing, the Clavis’s front fascia appears considerably different. A revised front grille and a reprofiled front profile are flanked by the headlights. With the possible exception of new alloy wheel designs, the shape and side profile appear to be unchanged. A modification to the taillamp arrangement has also been hinted at in earlier spy photos.

With features like a panoramic sunroof, two TFT screens (one for the infotainment system and the other as a digital instrument cluster), a touch-sensitive climate control panel, ventilated seats, and Level 2 ADAS capabilities, the new Kia Clavis is set to undergo a major interior upgrade. The next fully-electric Clavis, which will use the same platform but have minor exterior design modifications to differentiate it from the ICE version, is also anticipated to include these improvements.

It is anticipated that the new Kia Clavis will continue to use the same 1.5-litre normally aspirated gasoline engine, 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, and 1.5-liter diesel engine as the Carens. Six-speed manual, six-speed clutchless manual, six-speed torque converter automatic, and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions are available.

Additionally, a completely electric version of the Clavis is anticipated to eventually arrive on Indian roads. The foundations, motor, and battery specifications will be borrowed by the all-electric Clavis battery.
