A new range-topping S version of the Aston Martin DBX SUV has increased its peak power output to 727 horsepower, surpassing even the 725 horsepower Ferrari Purosangue, making it the most potent non-electrified production SUV. To further enhance performance, it also receives new aero upgrades and a number of weight-saving techniques.
With 20 horsepower, the new DBX S outperforms the appropriately titled DBX 707, which has 707 horsepower. The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine is still present, but it has been modified to use the Valhalla’s wider compressor wheel diameters.

Additionally, the upper end of the rev counter has been adjusted for greater “urgency”. As a result, the 0-200 kph sprint time is now 0.3 seconds faster, while the 0-100 kph sprint time of 3.3 seconds is still the same as it was for the DBX 707. Additionally, the 900 Nm torque output has not changed.
The steering ratio is now 4% faster, the turning circle has been cut by almost half a meter, and the V8 has a new exhaust system that makes it louder. The DBX 707’s variable all-wheel drive system and 9-speed wet-clutch automatic gearbox are still present, but according to Aston Martin, the gearbox’s change-up points have been adjusted to accommodate the increased rev range, and the downshifts in Sport and Sport+ modes are more forceful.
In addition to having a higher power output, the new DBX S also weighs 47 kg less than the DBX 707. In addition to helping to lower the centre of gravity, this has been accomplished using an optional carbon fibre roof that eliminates the need for roof rails and alone contributes to 18 kg of the weight savings.
Additionally, a polycarbonate honeycomb grille and 23-inch magnesium wheels—which weigh 19 kg less than the aluminium ones—are available as options. As a result, the total kerb weight comes to 2198 kg, which is still not a very light weight.

A new front splitter, a redesigned diffuser at the back, new side sills that assist direct airflow along the side of the car, and a new black grille design influenced by the DBS 770 Ultimate are among the other stylistic alterations. In contrast to the 707’s horizontal configuration, the twin exhaust points on either side are now vertically stacked at the back.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Lamborghini Urus, and Ferrari Purosangue are competitors of the Aston Martin DBX S. Although it is more potent than the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12-powered Ferrari, it is still inferior to competitors with electrified powertrains, including the 800 hp Urus SE or the 739 hp Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.
