Lamborghini Urus SE: India Launch Set for August 9 with 800hp Hybrid Powertrain

Lamborghini is set to launch the Urus SE in India on August 9 in New Delhi, just four months after its international debut in April. The Urus SE is the most powerful version of the SUV, boasting an impressive 800hp and 950Nm of torque. It marks the second model in Lamborghini’s lineup to feature hybrid power and includes both interior and exterior design updates.

The Urus SE features significant design changes, starting with a new bonnet that extends further forward than its predecessor. It also sports a new LED signature and slimmer LED headlamps equipped with Matrix technology. The front and rear bumpers, along with the tailgate section, have been redesigned to enhance its aggressive stance. Internationally, the Urus SE is available with 21-, 22-, or 23-inch wheels, all fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres, underscoring its performance capabilities.

Inside the cabin, Lamborghini has introduced new panels and AC vents to the dashboard. However, the standout feature is the new 12.3-inch central touchscreen, which replaces the previous 10.1-inch unit. This larger screen is shared with the Revuelto and runs Lamborghini’s latest software, offering a more advanced and user-friendly interface.

Under the hood, the Urus SE is powered by a hybrid powertrain that combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a plug-in hybrid system. This system includes a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed automatic gearbox. The combined output of this setup is a formidable 800hp and 950Nm. Lamborghini claims the Urus SE can be driven up to 60km on electric power alone. The SUV also features an all-wheel-drive system, can accelerate from 0-100kph in just 3.4 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 312kph, making it one of the fastest SUVs on the market.

In terms of pricing and competition, the Urus SE is expected to be significantly more expensive than its predecessors due to the addition of hybrid technology. The Urus was launched in India in 2018 at a price of Rs 3 crore, while the Urus Performante and Urus S were priced at Rs 4.22 crore and Rs 4.18 crore, respectively. Given these figures, the Urus SE’s price is anticipated to exceed these models. It is all set to compete with other luxury performance SUVs such as the BMW XM, Audi RSQ8, Lotus Eletre, Porsche Cayenne GTS, and Aston Martin DBX 707.

With its blend of hybrid power, cutting-edge technology, and updated design, the Lamborghini Urus SE is poised to set a new benchmark in the luxury performance SUV segment in India.
